Pedestrians use the walkway between The Cosmopolitan and Planet Hollywood hotel and casinos. Raising pedestrian traffic above The Strip has made it easier for auto traffic on Las Vegas Boulevard. It has also created a space for street performers and homeless to congregate.

At the core of CityCenter is a transportation hub with pedestrians, autos, and tram traffic converging at one point as seen from the 32nd floor of the Monte Carlo hotel and casino. Design for the CityCenter project was a departure from contemporary casino resort property design popularized in Las Vegas.
