This photograph has three images. The first one (0272_0078) reads "'Form Raising Crew' - cont. - Whitie, Indiana 'Hoosier', lining the bolt up from inside. Always looking for a hammer, or bar, when it was time to climb over the top." The second one (0272_0079) reads, "Drilling jumbo in mouth of spillway tunnel," as a handwritten inscription. The third image (0272_0080) reads, "Nevada spillway with flood gates lowered. Notice size of man in gates. Constructed to prevent flood waters from overflowing dam. Each spillway - capable of passing 200,00 cu. ft. per second."
The Walking Box Ranch Collection (1880-1979, bulk 1930-1945) contains digital images compiled by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Public Lands Institute. The collection consists of images of the Walking Box Ranch (Searchlight, Nevada), the Mojave Desert, and the Bell Family, consisting of American film stars Rex Bell, Clara Bow, and their children. There are also candid and professional photographs of Rex Bell and Clara Bow taken at various locations, some of which include friends and other family members, as well as a large number of unidentified film stills from Rex Bell movies. Images in this collection are from Bell family photograph albums and assorted prints, and were reformatted into digital images by the UNLV Public Lands Institute.
Oral history interview with Danny Cluff conducted by Claytee D. White on December 8, 2017 for the Remembering 1 October Oral History Project. In this interview, Danny Cluff discusses his attendance at the Route 91 Harvest music festival on the evening of the October 1, 2017 mass shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada with his friends and nephew. He talks of finding safety in Hooters with other survivors from the concert. When speaking of gun control, he discusses his perspectives on human nature, citing his experiences during and after the concert shooting. Throughout the interview, Cluff speaks of the ways he has healed and kept positive after the shooting, such as laughing through the hard times and writing poetry, of which he gives a few samples.
