Oral history interview with Patricia and Raymond Potter conducted by Shirley Emerson on June 05, 2014 for the West Charleston Neighborhoods: an Oral History Project of Ward 1. In this interview, Patricia and Raymond discuss their personal upbringings and lives prior to meeting each other. Raymond talks about his father’s employment with the Union Pacific Railroad and purchasing properties on South Fifth Street. He then recalls his father's business, Fifth Street Liquor Store. Patricia describes moving to Las Vegas in 1957 and graduating from Las Vegas High School in 1961. They talk about the impact that Howard Hughes had on the development of Las Vegas, nuclear testing at the Nevada Test Site, and the Helldorado parades. Lastly, Patricia and Raymond discuss the population increase in Las Vegas, the closing of Fremont Street for renovation, and changes in the West Charleston area.

Oral history interview with Forrest Duke conducted by Richard Lloyd Pipkins on March 02, 1977 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Duke discusses popular hotels in Las Vegas, Nevada. Duke also talks about entertainment acts and prominent Las Vegas figures such as Howard Hughes. He then discusses labor unions’ problems with hotels and atomic testing.

This part of the collection was photographed as part of the UNLV Special Collections and Archives' Building Las Vegas collecting initiative started in 2016. This photograph series documents ongoing construction work at Circa Las Vegas, the first new casino built on Fremont Street since the 1970s.

The Nevada locations series (approximately 1978-1989) contains images taken by Bob Paluzzi of the Las Vegas, Nevada area and a number taken around Reno and Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Paluzzi photographed many sporting events held at the Caesars Palace, including boxing matches, annual Alan King Tennis Classic tournaments, and Grand Prix races. This series includes images featuring social gatherings and events, like major conventions, unions, the United States Airforce Thunderbirds, and various car clubs. Paluzzi also captured many University of Nevada, Las Vegas football and basketball games, as well as the Las Vegas Stars baseball team. Included in this series are photographs of the Las Vegas Strip and the Fremont Street area during the late-1970s and mid-1980s. There are also a number of images of desert landscapes and natural environments around the Las Vegas Valley.
