Oral history interview with Luis F. Valera III conducted by Nathalie Martinez and Laurents Bañuelos-Benítez on January 23, 2019 for the Latinx Voices of Southern Nevada Oral History Project. In this interview, Valera discusses his family background and explains the story of his parent's immigration to the United States. He talks about bilingual language challenges while transitioning from school in Caracas, Venezuela and moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1994. Valera then describes being raised in both Cuban and Venezuelan cultures, describes their similarities, and his experience of not being welcomed into the student organization Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (MECHa). He recalls his college career, his decision to get into politics, and pursuing a degree in law. Later, Valera discusses his role as vice president of Student Organization for Latinos, and talks about being elected as the University of Las Vegas, Nevada (UNLV) student body Vice President. Lastly, Valera describes his position as Vice President of Government Affairs for UNLV.

Oral history interview with Raquel Ward conducted by Claytee D. White on March 25, 2010 for the UNLV University Libraries Oral History Collection. In this interview, Ward discusses her upbringing and family background in Tierra Blanca, Veracruz, Mexico. She remembers completing nursing school in Mexico, arriving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1958, and attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Ward talks about moving to Boulder City, Nevada, raising her children in Las Vegas, and the increase of organized crime during the 1960s. Lastly, Ward discusses the fast growth of the Hispanic community in Las Vegas during the 1970s and Hispanic representation in political positions.

Oral history interview with Henry Jimenez conducted by Andres Moses on May 23, 2006 for the UNLV @ 50 Oral History Project. In this interview Henry Jimenez discusses moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in July of 1998, attending middle school and high school in Las Vegas, and attending University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He also discusses being in many UNLV student organizations like student government and the Latino fraternity. He then discusses taking over the chairmanship of the Ways and Means Committee for the UNLV student government.

Oral history interview with James Whitney conducted by Anna Huddleston on January 24, 2014 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Whitney discusses his involvement with the beverage and restaurant industry in Las Vegas, Nevada and life in the city during the 1960s. Whitney describes working as an alcohol distributor and salesman and driving around rural Nevada and the surrounding states selling liquor. Whitney talks about prominent locations and eateries in the Las Vegas area, and what he likes about living in the desert compared to his former residence in Chicago, Illinois. Whitney also discusses the presence of organized crime in Las Vegas and his associations with the mob through his family and his business.

Oral history interview with William Rehn conducted by Melissa Valentine on February 15, 1979 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Rehn discusses how he believes people have changed in Las Vegas, Nevada since he moved there in 1939. Rehn bemoans how African Americans were treated and segregated in Las Vegas, and describes his career as a political cartoonist. He describes clubs in Las Vegas and their connection to organized crime, as well as the inner workings of the casinos and their relation to the economy.

The Phil Carlino Papers (1967-2016) document Carlino's involvement in Nevada politics and business. The collection centers around Carlino’s time as State Chairman of the Nevada State Democratic Party. It also includes materials from the National Democratic Party, the 1972 Democratic National Convention, and personal papers. His wife and business partner, Florence Carlino, is mentioned throughout the collection. She was involved in numerous local organizations and was a supporter of the Democratic Party. The materials include photographs, correspondence, newspaper articles, event programs and invitations, periodicals, and promotional campaign items from Carlino's campaigns for Nevada Secretary of State and Mayor of Las Vegas.

Oral history interview with Nadine Connor and Harriet Watson conducted by Claytee D. White on May 29, 2018 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. In this interview, Connor and Watson discuss their early lives and moving to Las Vegas, Nevada. They talk about African American women’s civil and social work, and the establishment of Charms, Inc. Watson describes founding the Las Vegas chapter of Charms, Inc. and organizing activities to feed the hungry, assist homeless youth, and funding for higher education. Lastly, Connor and Watson discuss the homelessness issue in Las Vegas.
