The UNLV University Libraries Collection on Hoover Dam dates from 1935 to 1937 and consists of black-and-white photographs of the construction of Hoover Dam in Nevada. The collection is an artifical collection created by UNLV Special Collections and Archives staff. The photographs document early construction of the Hoover Dam to images of the dam at completion. The collection also contains photographs of construction workers.

The Six Companies, Inc. Hoover Dam Photograph Collection (1931-1935), consists of approximately 400 black-and-white photographic prints contained in two photograph albums and an additional twenty-one loose black-and-white photographic prints with ten corresponding photographic negatives.

The UNLV Libraries Collection of 1983 Hoover Dam Overflow Photographs is a series of color photographs that document the historic water overflow at Hoover Dam as seen from the Arizona side of the dam. Taken in August of 1983, this overflow marked the first time the spillways were used during a flood. The spillways were previously tested once in 1941 after the dam was initially filled.

The Virginia "Teddy" Fenton Photograph Collection on the Hoover Dam and Boulder City, Nevada (1920-1985) contains photographs of the Hoover Dam, Colorado River, and Boulder City, Nevada. The photographs depict the construction of the Hoover Dam from 1931 to 1936, views of the dam after it was finished, and workers building the dam.

The UNLV University Libraries Collection of Boulder City, Hoover Dam, and Lake Mead National Recreation Area Maps and Brochures (1927-1998) primarily contains regional maps, brochures for local points of interest, and subdivision plat maps of Boulder City, Lake Mead, and Hoover (Boulder) Dam.

The William White Postcard Collection (approximately 1930-1940) consists of three postcards depicting the Hoover Dam (Boulder Dam) on the border of Nevada and Arizona. One postcard showcases Oskar J. W. Hansen’s “Figures of the Republic” sculptures near the Hoover Dam. Another postcard displays an interior view of the visitor’s gallery at the Hoover Dam. The final postcard depicts the Hoover Dam at sunset.

The Bob Parker Photograph Collection consists of twenty-seven black-and-white photographic prints showcasing the construction of the Hoover Dam (Boulder Dam) from approximately 1930 to 1942.
