Barbutti, Pete

Pete Barbutti (also spelled Barbuti) was born in 1934 in Scranton. Pennsylvania. As a

child he was expected to learn an musical instrument. Pete's musical talents were honed

on the accordion and later the piano and trumpet. He had a gift for music and for comedy.

This combination would lead to a career in both and a list of professional and personal

friends that spanned an era from the 1970s to the 1990s.

Pete and his wife Mary Ann moved to Las Vegas in 1960. They raised their children here

Barth, Delbert S.

Delbert Sylvester Barth was born on July 16, 1925, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Delbert married R. Lucille Barth on July 10, 1946, and they had four children: Delbert II, Christopher, Deborah, and Diana.

Barth retired from his position as Rear Admiral at the Nevada Test Site but remained at the United States Public Health Service and the Test Manager’s Advisory Panel.

Barth was director of the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s National Environmental Research Center in Las Vegas.

Belt, R. V. (Robert V.)

Robert Vinton Belt was Acting Comissioner for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in the late 1800s and oversaw the construction of the Fort Mojave Indian School in present day Mohave Valley, Arizona. Robert "R. V." was born on December 31, 1842. Belt was comissioned during the Benjamin Harrison presidency and served for three years as Acting Comissioner. After this appointment, Belt continued to serve Native American tribes through his legal work. Robert Vinton Belt passed away March 25, 1910.
